Welcome to the 'Team SkyhoppersHot Air Balloon Team website.

We are a privately funded Hot Air Balloon Team based in Reading Berkshire UK, all of our flying is purely for fun and there is no financial gain, the charity that we support is the Firefighters Charity.

You will regularly see us in the skies and around the area when the weather allows. We have launch sites throughout the region.

The team recently took part in the 15th Lorraine Mondial Internation Air Balloon festival at Chambley-Bussieres Aerodrome (near Metz) in Northern France and helped to achieve a new world record, being 1 of 456 balloons to all launch together (mass ascent).

You will hopefully see us at many events all across the UK and Europe.

For the 2011 season we flew a Cameron N-77, registration G-BMLJ 'Blackpool Pleasure Beach' balloon with the nickname 'Sunshine' as she's affectionately known to us.

For the 2012-2015 seasons we flew a Cameron N-77, registration G-BSBM 'Nuclear Electric' balloon with the nickname 'Nelly' (It's easier to say than "Nuclear Electric Balloon" on the retrieve radio).

As well as Nelly, for the 2016-2018 seasons we flew a Cameron N-105 registration G-BVHV with the nickname 'Rover'.

As well as Rover, for the 2019 season we will be flying G-KENL, a Sackville BM65 home built balloon, built by Ken in the down time between seasons. It has the nickname 'MeMe'

Please get in touch if you are interested in getting involved in ballooning or joining the team, we are always on the lookout for new crew, or if you would simply like to come and watch and have a chat, please don't hesitate to contact us.

We hope to see you on the launchfield soon.

Soft Landings :-)
